I really like your choice of subject matter in this panorama. I think nature vs. machines is a great contrast to think about. The first thing though, funnily enough, to catch my eye was the lighting on the left of the panorama. At first, I was a little confused because of the panoramic form of it, but I really just liked how it seemed to give the panorama so much more to see and think about. I know we commented on this in class, but I think with the planes, it would be nice to see it not so centered between the cranes. I also thought that photoshopping the boat in the foreground of the panorama might make it stronger, as it is very still and flat against the water, which makes that section look a bit flat closer up. I think you took a lot of risks in this panorama, in terms of photoshopping, and I think that was really great. Good stuff.
Colin, This photoshopping was amazing, good use of all the techniques. This might be due mainly to the title of your panorama (dystopia), but I really get this "big brother" kind of feel when I look at this. I almost feel as if I'm not supposed to be looking at all of these ships and machines in the water and that they're hiding something from me. As for the planes, I think I would rather not have seen them in the image. I feel as though they don't mix in with the rest of the image, and it's almost too much for me to look at. I find it interesting enough with just the river and the machines. Other than that though Iwould say a great job.
